Domaine des Chasseignes began four generations ago with a family farm that also raised livestock and grew grains. Today, the great granddaughter of founder Alphonse, Aurore Dezat, is the talented vigneronne at the helm. Her husband, David Girard, joined her in 2016 and with him brought a wealth of experience in organic and biodynamic farming. The estate began the organic certification process in 2020. In addition to beautiful Sancerre Rouge and Blanc, the couple make mineral-drenched single-vineyard wines, including one of the most famous lieux-dits in Sancerre, “Les Chasseignes.” Each single vineyard is treated to an élèvage appropriate to its personality, through careful and intentional vinification practices.
