Domaine Amélie & Charles Sparr

ALSACE, FRANCE

Visit Bele Casel

We have been part of various movements over the past few decades to make Alsatian wine relevant to an American audience. It’s a challenge- the region has historically been known for weighty white wines, sometimes off-dry and aromatic, often Grand Cru designated, yet rarely relevant to the American dining table (except at Thanksgiving when our turkeys are lavishly moistened by Gewurztraminer.) Enter Amelie and Charles Sparr, a young couple with deep family roots in the region, who made Pinot Noir an accessible “calling card” for a property with a bright future.
