On the north slopes of the active volcano Mount Etna, lies the iconic Giromalo Russo winery, around an impressive 700 meters above sea level. Reestablished by Giuseppe Russo in 2005, the winery was dedicated to the memory of his father, Giromalo. Organic farming has helped maintain well over century-old, bush-trained vines. Giuseppe is among the leaders in interpreting individual contrade, or districts, that make up the diversity of Mount Etna. Each year, we are amazed and humbled by the quality of his wines: Biano, Rosato, and Rosso.
